Headphone mania

Date of Review:  Dec 31, 1999
Review: the new sony headphones are excellent. small, compact and lightweight, they deliver full rich sounds, almost deafening bass and crisp clean highend. What every DJ needs in a headphone. I'd categorize these as more of a mobile headphone then a home...

Bending and Mixing to Peer Pressure

Date of Review:  Feb 20, 2001
The Bottom Line: Need some good headphones for home listening or bedrooms DJing get these...but they probably wont survive a desert party or a couple years of normal DJ use.
Review: If you've been around club-land or rave-land for any amount of time odds are you have seen a pair of these silver beauties donned by a DJ or two. Much like the Technics 1200 turntable the meme these headphones has generated has seemed powerful...

Radical studio headphones!

Date of Review:  Feb 15, 2008
The Bottom Line: Great for DJs and also for studio monitors. Lots of bass, and nice sounding highs.
Review: I do a lot of home recording in my basement digital studio, and since there are other people living in the house, I realized I needed some pro headphones for mixing and mastering tunes in the wee hours. The cheapo headphones I had just didn't have...

Great sound, cheap plastic

Date of Review:  Jan 31, 2007
The Bottom Line: Overall, I like these headphones a lot but knowing what I know now, I would not buy them again.
Review: I am not a DJ but I do a heck of a lot of video editing. I also listen to music a lot and use them with my computer for the occasional video game. I shopped around a bit for a set of headphones that would fulfill all of these needs and decided on...

Excellent headphones! Great for DJs

Date of Review:  Oct 20, 2004
The Bottom Line: Great headphones. Super sound. Looks cool. Be prepared to fix the swivel after 1yr. Everything else is built like a rock.
Review: Finding a GOOD set of DJ headphones for a good price is tough. You can go cheap and get bad sound. And the high end ones can be ridiculously expensive. I think Sony has the happy medium here with the MDR-V700 DJ cans.

The best feature is...

Sony MDR V700DJ Ear-cup Headphones

Date of Review:  Jan 27, 2005
The Bottom Line: These headphones are worth the 150 plain and simple there is no better headphone that will cost you less that has better quality
Review: To start things off i was noticing that some of these reviews are from 2000 2001 and sony has really changed their headphones. I had a pair of 700s back in 2001 2002 and they worked great the swivel mechanisms on it broke after about 2 years so i...

Overall Great Headphones

Date of Review:  Aug 1, 2001
The Bottom Line: These headphones are great for DJing, but not for everyday listening due to their size and boomy nature.
Review: First of all I'd like to state that I'm literally just beginning to build my home DJ set, so although I'm extremely experienced at DJ, I have been practising :P

I used to work in an upper level club with fantastic sound, the owner was a...

Sony MDR-V700 for DJ use

Date of Review:  Oct 22, 2002
The Bottom Line: Essentially, the MDR-V700's are, I believe, the perfect balance of price versus usability. They are completley sufficient for any task requiring professional quality headphones.
Review: I first became interested in the Sony MDR-V700 headphones when I got into DJ-ing. I looked around to make sure that I got the right ones too.
By talking to pro DJ's that I know, they told me how they were ideal because you can pretty much use...
