A golden oldie that doesn't shine
Pros:
Cute, somewhat funny, and entertaining
Cons:
I didn't like the plot because it strayed from the games.
The Bottom Line:
This is a goldie to some and crapy to others. Don't see this if you're a picky movie person. Everyone else can enjoy this movie.

Author's Review
I was born back in the early 80's {1981}. The very first time I popped Super Mario Bros. in my NES I fell in love with the Mario story and is a big fan to this day {that's why I'm Peachydaisy I can't deside which princess is better}. When I was 12 {1993} I heard that Mario would kick it up to the big screen and I literally had a cow. I put on my cute little red baseball hat {with an M I glued on there} and went and saw it. I remember little from back then ,but today I was flipping through the TV Guide and low and behold there it was. I had another cow. So I sat down and watched it. Boy did I have a rude awakeing! The movie overall was good, but it had a few flaws. Here's what I mean:
THE PLOT:
The movie starts out telling about dinos and how they went underground and then "grew" into human type dinos aka koopas. The whole reason the dinos were forced underground is because of a meteroite. So Bowser {known as Koopa in the movie} wants the meterite so he can take over the world. {I'm starting to see a pattern in a bad guy's motive} There was a piece missing though and it belonged to the royals aka Daisy {Peach got a cold so she didn't make the cut} Bowser put a spell on the king {making him a giant fungus}, but the queen excaped left baby Daisy on a church's doorstep with the meterorite piece. Bowser then catches the Queen and kills her. Now let's go ahead a few years. Anyway Mario {star of movie} and Luigi {a guy who is supposed to have mustage but doen't in the movie} run into Daisy on a plumbing job. To not spoil the rest of the movie I'll sum it up a bit: Bowser catches Daisy, Mario and Luigi rescues Daisy, Bowser dies.
GOOD PARTS: Yoshi is in the movie and again Mario and Luigi take the spot light and makes this movie a must see even if it's sort of inaccurate.
BAD PARTS: The Goombas are tall and lizardy not mushroomy {I used to call them hamburgers back in the 80's}, Yoshi is ugly and has hardly no part, LUIGI DOESN"T HAVE A MUSHTASHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, {sorry that's a big deal to me}, Bowser doesn't look like the Bowser we know, no mushroom people, and finally Toad got turned into a goomba {that doesn't make since}.
OVERALL: This movie is wonderful for a Mario or video game freak, but not for those picky people.
