Test Drive Le Mans - Amazing Detail

With Test Drive Le Mans closely following Test Drive V Rally, Infogames has redeemed the Test Drive name. This game provides the best combination of driving experience and graphics detail of any game to date on any system.

The racing action is fast and furious and the game maintains a constant frame rate even with two dozen cars on the screen at one time. The control is very nicely balanced and can be adjusted in three levels. The skill level you choose determines how much steering and braking assistance you are given. If you spent hours of frustration running into walls with Sega GT, your experience with Test Drive Le Mans will be much more pleasurable.

The graphic and audio detail in this game is superb. If you gun the engine and quickly let off the accelerator the car backfires with flames shooting out of the tail pipes and a satisfying pop. The scenic views from points on the Le Mans track are so breathtaking that you just can’t resist, at least once, stopping in the middle of a race to admire the view. The engine sounds are so well crafted that you can pick out the sound from individual cars on the track.

The cars look very good, but just a little less realistic than those in Test Drive V Rally. But again the detail is amazing. You can see reflections dancing on the polished paint jobs as you pass objects along the track. About the only thing missing from the cars is any damage modeling. If you crash your car it looks none the worse for the wear.

Test Drive Le Mans is a must have for anyone who even mildly enjoys driving games.
