Author's Review
I really like this ride. I had an older 2001 Chevy Prizm (2001 Corolla with Chevy nameplate). The ride is very smooth, much smoother than my 2001, and also much smoother than the 1999 Olds Alero GLS I had before. I picked this up in April 2006 when they were on clearance making room for the 2007 models. It's sticker price was $17,300 I paid $13,995 A 2005 model used books for more than I owe on this one. As far as MPG goes I'm still in the break-in period so no highway driving yet. It's doing 32MPG in town stop and go driving. I expect this to increase to 34MPG as it breaks in. It's rated at 30/38 City/Hwy so I'm hoping for 34/40 eventually. Toyota is known for exceeding the dumb EPA estimates. It's got a 4 speed auto. Slightly jerky from 1st to 2nd, but other than that smooth and peppy for what it's got to work with. It's also one of the cheapest cars to insure. I was pleasantly surprised when I was given my new insurance bill for it. The interior is decent for a car of this price. The fake wood dash looks good, lots of storage cubby holes, good cup holders, huge trunk, folding rear seats. The alarms, keyless entry, 6 disk CD changer, 6 speakers, and outside temp all lend it a bit of luxury.
