Author's Review
I am in love with Victor. He sits in a corner and never says a word. He helps me every day, giving me the right answer every time I call upon him. I really know how to push his buttons. Sometimes I don't even have to look at him but I know that just with my touch, he responds immediately. Instead of spending my money, he is responsible for helping me balance my checkbook. He often gives me something in return, a receipt. He is always bright and never looks tired. Now, if I could get my husband to follow Victor's lead. I would be the luckiest girl in the world.
All kidding aside, the Victor 1430 is a very efficient calculator with a large display so I don't have to put my glasses on to see it. It has a 10 digit capacity and a heavy duty printer for taped receipts. It comes with a two color ribbon (black and red). It even offers a Tax Key and Markup/Gross Profit Margin Key, which I never use. Along with that, it has a Percent Key, Backspace, Automatic Constants, Date/Non-Add Key, Sigma Key, Item Count Switch, Change Sign Key, and it is AC Powered. It is 11" long, 8" wide and 2 3/4" high. It is grey with blue keys for adding, subtracting, and the clear buttons. It is nice looking and only weighs 3.9lbs.
Victor is an American company, around for eighty years. They only make and manufacturer calculators. They have an "extensive line of 29 versatile calculators for the professional, commercial or home office market place." They offer a three year warranty on ribbon/cartridge ribbon models and a two year warranty on all ink roller and display models. They also offer full support with any problems that you might run into using this product. The inside of the calculator is sealed with a latex mask so that no liquid, dust or dirt could harm the product.
Aside from all that techno babble, the machine works for me. It really is easy to use, and simple to learn. Now, if I could get some cooperation from AC.
