Not for serious chefs

This product sucks...or rather it doesn't and that's the problem. The Pyramid looks terrific, but its design is seriously flawed. It does not project forward enough to cover the front burners of a stove, and the front 6 inches of the underside of the hood is solid metal. The result is that only the back burners receive effective venting. This is very evident when doing heavy sauté-ing. Grease vapors are drawn into the exhaust opening but also are quite evident escaping around the side edges as well as upward in front of the hood. Note most stoves have the high output burners up front, just where the Pyramid has the least effect. Also the lights are at the back of the underside of the unit, while again most cooking occurs at the front of the stove.

The unit is much better than the run-of-the-mill Nu-Tones but is not close to adequate when used with a serious stove with 12-15,000 BTU burners.

Installation was also a little obscure due to the inadequate instructions but their tech service people were prompt with verbal instructions and a fax that made things a little clearer. Still skinned a couple of knuckles trying to access some of the screw holes.
